MotoGP Laguna: Hayden confirms Ducati split

Former MotoGP World Champion Nicky Hayden has confirmed he will not ride for the factory Ducati team in 2014.

The American rider was told by Ducati Corse boss Paolo Ciabatti that there is not a place for him in their premier class plans next season but the factory do have four GP13s available to lease next season.

"I'm not coming back to Ducati in MotoGP. They have chosen to go a different way so that we know and I really don't know my future to be honest. I have a couple of things going, some interesting stuff, in MotoGP it doesn't look so good," said Hayden, speaking at Laguna.

"With the new bikes and the new rules we don't know what the possibilities will be. I do have some options that are interesting. I still love racing bikes and I think I have a lot to give. I will try to find a new home and see what's left."

Hayden has already been contacted by several World Superbike teams but says he would only consider a factory ride.
