MotoGP Indy: Crutchlow gets tank and seat upgrade

Monster Yamaha's Cal Crutchlow has revealed he has been running the upgraded tank and seat unit at this weekend's Indianapolis MotoGP round which both the factory YZR-M1s use but says he won't know if it is effective until tomorrow's race.

Crutchlow has said over the course of the season the new parts would will help him to push hard in the early laps as with his pre-Indy setup, he can't brake as well as is possible with a lighter fuel load and this allows the likes of Lorenzo and Marquez to get away early doors.

"I have the tank and the seat for this race. I can't tell you if it's any better yet as I haven't raced the first laps. I don't expect it to be much better here because the track surface is so slippy," said Crutchlow, speaking at Indianapolis.

"In the first laps, you don't push as hard as you would at other racetracks. Definitely, at the moment, I feel zero difference compared to any other tracks because it is not supposed to help in any other way except the start of the race."
