Valentino Rossi unwrapped the factory YZR-M1 he will ride next season during today's MotoGP Misano test and completed laps on it, as did team-mate Jorge Lorenzo.

The bike features a different motor, chassis and swingarm but more details are yet to be revealed about the bike. It is hoped that it will be enough to make beating Marc Marquez a little easier than of late. Well, for Lorenzo anyway.

Rossi said the performance of the new bike against the old was 'very similar' while Lorenzo said the new engine was a step forward.
