Splitlath Redmond's 2013 endurance team took a hard fought third place podium finish in the final round of the FIM World Endurance Championship at Le Mans, in the Superstock class.

The young French team run by endurance veterans Team Louit Moto 33 battled through the 24 hour marathon, overcoming a crash and a ride through penalty to complete 797 laps in the allotted time, three more than their nearest rival.

Rider’s Florian Marino, Lorenzo Savadori and Emeric Jonchiere started the race from pole. But Savadori was caught out on oil from Honda TT Legend’s rider Simon Andrews’ bike, after the British Superstock 1000 racer was involved in a crash on track. The Brit went to hospital with multiple injuries and broken bones, and Savadori went down hard on his right side. The Kawasaki was repaired in record time and the Italian went back out.

Team Manager, Gilles Cabarro is happy with the rostrum finish, but is adamant that the Splitlath Redmond Louit Moto 33 team could have ended the race even higher if they were not involved in a crash.

"The team is very happy of course, but for the troubles the result would have been better. The beginning of the race was good with good rhythm then there was the crash which changed our strategy,” said Cabarro.

“But we are happy because bike returned quickly and was still able to run. It took 6 mechanics to fix it in 5 minutes and we were competitive again. Later in the race Lorenzo overtook under safety car meaning a stop and go which cost a lot of time. The podium finish rewarded everybody who is involved in team for their work and contribution and made a great end to the season."
