Rumour circulating the Brands Hatch British Superbike paddock is that diminutive American PJ Jacobsen will not be on the grid in 2014, instead choosing to replace Sam Lowes in the Yakhnich Yamaha World Supersport squad.

The talented New Yorker is said to have offers within the British Superbike championship, most notably with his current employers Tyco Suzuki, but is likely to head to the world stage.

Jacobsen has been in talks with a number of World Supersport teams about 2014 but it has been said that a deal is all but done for him to jump on to the Yakhnich Yamaha, a seat that has been vacated by  Lowes as he heads off to Moto2. he New Yorker is remaining tight lipped on the finer details but he has said his plans for next year will be announced within the next couple of days.

"It has been a great year for me, the beginning of the season was a bit difficult as I was still learning and it was new for me to ride a Superbike and now I am consistently in that top six and everything is good this year and in BSB. I have been trying every race and getting better and better and for my first wet race fifth is really good," said Jacobsen, speaking to bikesportnews.com.

"In regards to next year I have had some offers from the BSB paddock and also in the World Superbike series. I don't know what I am doing yet I haven't signed a deal or anything like that, but hopefully I can get something sorted next week or the week after. I think everyone wants to get into the World Championship, but the BSB championship is the hardest domestic series in the world and this has been great this year, but everyone and myself want to get to the World Championship."

His Tyco Suzuki team-mate, Taylor Mackenzie, will be remaining with the Tyco Suzuki squad for next year though. The son of three-time British Superbike Champion Niall, has confirmed to bikesportnews.com that a verbal agreement has been made with TAS Suzuki boss Phillip Neil about re-joining the squad in 2014 on their British Supersport machine.
