Britain's Scott Redding limped to 17th place in today's Moto2 qualifying at Valencia and says that after the injuries and crashes he has suffered, the strength just isn't there this weekend.
The MarcVDS man rode through the pain barrier this afternoon and tried a number of changes on his Kalex machine to try and compensate for his injuries, but finally had to accept that only grit and determination will get him through tomorrow's 27-lap race
"With the injuries I just don't have any power in my body, and that's making it hard to ride the bike. The set-up of the bike feels pretty good, but it's difficult to be sure when you're a second off the pace," said Redding.
"Our aim today in qualifying was top 12, which we didn't manage, but it was important to get more laps under my belt this afternoon. I'm under no illusions as to how tough, and how painful, tomorrow's 27-lap race is going to be. All I can do is try my best. If I can run to the finish then that's great. If I can't, then at least I gave it my best shot."
