Go&Fun Honda’s Scott Redding took another step forward on the final day of testing at Sepang and finished with a final laptime of 2’02.833 - 1.5s faster than he managed on day one of the test.
The British rider is getting used to the electronics of the RCV1000R production racer, and adjusting his riding style to suit the Bridgestone tyres in the stifling Malaysian heat.
“Today I was able to take another step forward: I am learning how to slide the bike to get it turned on exit and in general I felt more at ease while riding,” said Redding.
“Unfortunately, the difficult conditions of the track in the afternoon did not allow me to improve a lot of my lap time, but I'm happy with how my first test with the team went; later this month we will come back in Sepang, and we will continue to work on the suspension and on electronic set-up refinement, in particular traction control.”
