Forward Racing’s fast MotoGP rookie Aleix Espargaro has already rubbished talk of using a new frame season when it appears later in the season as his current bike is already competitive enough.
The youngster was right on the pace in the second Sepang test and topped the timesheets at Qatar when he stayed ahead of brother Pol and Bradley Smith on the Factory-spec satellite Monster Yamahas.
“I will not use all season if the frame arrive. I know Colin is really interested to try it, he want it in Malaysia, in Qatar, he is pushing the boss for the next race or in Jerez but it is not in my plan to try because this bike is competitive,” said Espargaro, speaking at Qatar.
Team-mate Edwards has struggled a little with the new bike, saying he couldn’t get it to pivot and turn deep in the corner but knows where he needs to improve.
