Scotland’s John McPhee is on the Moto3 pace at Qatar after three free practice sessions at Qatar’s MotoGP round, sitting in sixth place on the combined timesheets and less than three-tenths slower than fastest man Romano Fenati.
McPhee ended today with a 2’06.391 compared to the Sky VR46 rider’s 2’06.171 and the Scotsman found six-tenths of a second overnight while Fenati was only fractions quicker than his best from free practice two but it is the circuit best record.
Alex Rins bundled himself into second place late on, ahead of Jakub Cornfeil, Alex Rins and Jack Miller. Danny Kent, who tried a new swingarm yesterday which caused him nothing but chatter, ended in 12th but is only a second off the pace.
