Movistar Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo has called for a more competitive bike in order to try and halt the steamroller that is Marc Marquez who took this third MotoGP pole position from three races today in Argentina.
The former champion found some pace in qualifying today to get finish less than three quarters of a second behind the Repsol Honda wunderkind but says they are already at the maximum without being able to modify engines.
“I would like to have a more competitive bike but we are trying our best. Also, with the regulations for the engines we can’t improve them so we are trying to improve the chassis and also the electronics, and with the package we have, we are doing the maximum,” said Lorenzo, speaking in Argentina.
“Expectations are it will be difficult because the Honda are very strong at all the tracks. We are trying to solve everything we can solve and before the qualifying, we modify the bike a little and this was great to have a better feeling, so I push at the maximum with the soft tyre.”
