Movistar Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi will leave the choice of tyres for tomorrow’s Argentine MotoGP until as late as possible as he is still undecided on which options to go for even after running hard compounds front and rear in qualifying.
The Doctor, who will start from the outside of row two, say she wasn’t surprised by the pace of poleman Marc Marquez but added he didn’t get the chance to push the extra ten per cent required to match even his team-mate Jorge Lorenzo.
“You always have to think this because these guys on track who is in the qualifying they are able to go incredible fast and are able to make some laptimes that you can’t imagine the day before. But I am happy about today, is a good practice,” said Rossi, speaking in Argentina.
“This morning already we improve a lot the bike and thid afternoon also I am not so bad in the pace, I’m quite constant but unfortunately, I want to try and make better in the fastest lap, I ride well but I don’t give the extra ten per cent but anyway I am in the second row which is quite good.
“We have to work and decide the tyre but I have a good feeling and we will see tomorrow. Sincerely, it is open. Rear soft or hard, more hard but the front extra hard or hard we will decide tomorrow before the race. I depends also the temperature of the track. I feel not so bad also with the extra hard.”
