Movistar Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi believes time is the only thing that can put his YZR-M1 on a par with the Honda of Marc Marquez but he is already 34 points behind the young Spaniard with three races gone.
The nine-time world champion said in Argentina that he needs something to help him attack the RC213V on the brakes, and added today he also requires the bike to work better with the tyres. However, Rossi thinks he is more help to the team after one year developing the bike.
“Sincerely, I think I can give also better help help because I know better the bike compared to last year, I have better settings so I can push more so I can help Jorge to improve the bike. Our bike is great, the problem is Honda. It is a little bit better in some areas,” said Rossi, speaking at Jerez.
“I think the situation is quite clear, we have to understand where to work on the bike, especially for use the tyres in a better way so I think this will be the key for improve the M1. I hope as soon as possible but I think we need time.”
