Speed Up Moto2 star Sam Lowes says he is ready to push into the top five at this weekend’s Jerez MotoGP round after fighting from 22nd to eighth in last weekend’s Argentine race.
The reigning World Supersport Champion is in confident mood as he will be out on a track he knows and tested well there pre-season so a front three rows qualifying slot is the first target.
“I’m feeling really positive about this weekend; I know the circuit and I like riding here. The pre-season tests went well with the bike and unlike in previous rounds I know how the bike should feel on the track, so hopefully we won’t waste time with the set-up, or encounter any issues,” said Lowes.
“I’d like to qualify in the top nine and push for top five in the race, of course a win is the ultimate, but I don’t want to build myself up too much. We’ve got to keep improving and building, moving forward, rather than backwards.”
