Monster Yamaha’s Bradley Smith spent a good deal of time during the Jerez MotoGP test trying to find a way to make his satellite M1 stop and turn with a full fuel load in the early part of race.

Smith thinks that his crew have found a direction for that and a way to get more rear grip via some new rear linkages coupled with shock settings.

“This morning we spent only on electronics, trying to improve braking into corners so upright, entry and maximum lean and we seem to have found something I am much happier with. That will help going on to full fuel as it will take extra weight off the front tyre,” said Smith, speaking at Jerez.

“At one, we started to work on the rear with a couple of different linkages, settings and got way more grip than I had in the race. The hardest one was getting some feel in the front tyre. We went up, down, left, right but then went back to something we knew from Argentina and that is where my feeling is. We improved in three areas.”
