Ioda’s MotoGP effort has had a further setback today when Danoli Petrucci’s likely replacement at this weekend’s Le Mans Grand Prix, Luca Scassa, has crashed and broken his femur during a test
The Italian went straight from the Imola World Superbike test to Mugello to ride the ART but was spat over the highside and taken to San Lorenzo Hospital for checks which revealed the injury, and smaller fractures to his pevis. Scassa was given the test because of his experience on Bridgestones with the AB Kardion team last year.
Ioda now have little time to find another rider. Leon Camier left his Imola hotel this morning after having no contact from the team who were supposed to run him all year, which leaves Michel Fabrizio, who left the Grillini WSBK team at the weekend to be replaced by Bryan Staring.
