MotoGP Indy: Rossi considering soft tyre as race option

Movistar Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi says he is considering racing on the softest of the Bridgestone options available to him in today’s Indianapolis MotoGP as the new tarmac is enabling the tyre to last longer.

The Doctor was not even thinking about anything other the hard option on Friday but as more rubber has been laid down on recently-laid surface, the performance of the hard and soft tyres is getting closer together.

“We improve a lot the setting but now will be crucial the choice of the rear tyre. Soft or hard is very similar so will be very important for the race to fix some small details to be ready for the race,” said Rossi, speaking at the track.

“Sometimes the performance of the two tyre cross and here is a new tarmac. The track change a lot practice by practice and it looks like the softer is coming better and better, when yesterday was impossible.”
