Britain’s Sam Lowes has taken a second-row start for tomorrow’s Brno MotoGP Moto2 race, bagging fourth place after being knocked off the front row by a late lap from Swiss rider Thomas Luthi.
Lowes was on pole schedule in the first two sectors of his final lap but got stuck behind Franco Morbidelli and had to ride around the outside of the Italtrans man which cost him a couple of tenths. The Speed-Up rider finished four-tenths behind poleman Esteve Rabat.
The MarcVDS man was the only rider under the 2’02 barrier with a 2’01.911, set on his 20th lap, while Luthi hopped into second place as the chequered flag was waved. Sandro Cortese completed the front row.
Simone Corsi joins Lowes on the front row with the second MarcVDS Kalex of Mika Kallio, who crashed on his last lap. Gino Rea finished in 27th.
