Movistar Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo has tested a new chassis and engine this morning at the Brno MotoGP test but says it will be difficult to use the 2015 frame this year and that the engine didn’t give any huge benefit.
The former world champion also spent the first part of the session using the hard Bridgestone, instead of the soft on which he raced yesterday, and said that with the settings they used for warm-up yesterday, which weren’t used with the hard tyre, it was better.
“It was quite well in some areas. The engine to be honest is similar to this year and for the moment we don’t find any benefit. The chassis for next year seems more stable on the entry of the corner and absorbs the bumps better, I can go faster but unforunately it is impossible to use this year,” said Lorenzo, speaking at Brno.
“Yamaha told me it would be difficult but they have to check and they have some information, maybe they can make something for take the improvement at this test into the bike of this year. I hope Yamaha can take some of the benefits of this chassis into the bike this year.”
