Yamaha MotoGP boss confirms no wall between Rossi and Lorenzo

Yamaha MotoGP boss Lin Jarvis has today confirmed there will not be a garage wall between Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo during the 2016 season.

When the pair shared a pitbox in 2009, they hated each other so much that the garage area was separated into two halves, meaning there was very little co-operation between the two sides but Jarvis says this is detrimental to the squad as a whole.

“We will go into next season in the same way we did last season. One of our strengths is the team works very well together. The riders are indivdually competitive but the mechanics work well and if we put up a barrier it will be to the deficit of the team and to both riders,” said Jarvis, speaking at the team launch in Barcelona.

“That is the past and not useful any more. We understand the riders are competing against each but, as Jorge has said, if Valentino is his main competitor for the championship, it is a good sign that Yamaha is at the front. It our main mission to beat the competition.”
