Reigning MotoGP World Champion Jorge Lorenzo believes that getting the new spec MotoGP electronics working as closely to the performance of last year’s will be the key to victory in 2016.
The Movistar Yamaha rider, who was speaking at his team launch this morning in Barcelona, believes that the way the new Michelin tyres perform could provide him with a corner speed advantage but it would be the electronics that make the big difference.
“The Michelin is a little bit different from the Bridgestone, you have to anticipate the braking, releasing the brake a little bit sooner but this kind of riding style can be better for me but until we practice in more tracks and pass more time, we will not know,” said Lorenzo, speaking in Spain.
“From Yamaha we especially for the electronics. We ask for Michelin to improve the front tyre, but from Yamaha we need to undertand more how to create electronic that is as close as possible to the one we had last year.”
