Ecstar Suzuki’s Aleix Espargaro may have to sit out the rest of this weekend’s MotoGP action at the Red Bull Ring after breaking his finger in a free practice two crash.
The Spaniard went down on his fifth lap after setting a 1’25.945s and went for immediate treatment at the Clinica Mobile. He will now have to undergo physiotherapy and see how it feels before the crucial third session tomorrow.
“Unfortunately Aleix incurred a crash at a time he was feeling good and was making solid improvements with faster-and-faster lap-times. The crash generated a small fracture and he will need some physiotherapy this evening, so let’s wait to see how he will feel in the night and then tomorrow morning and together we will decide what to do,” said team boss Davide Brivio.
