Tarran Mackenzie will make his Moto2 debut at the Le Mans MotoGP round as he joins the Kiefer Racing outfit.
The young Scot will replace Danny Kent, who departed the team at the Austin, for the rest of the season and leaves the McAMS Yamaha team in British Supersport.
“I am incredibly grateful to be given this opportunity by Kiefer Racing to compete in the Moto 2 World Championship. I’m excited to take on this tough new challenge and I will give Stefan and his team my total commitment as I get used to the new bike and circuits,” said Mackenzie.
“I have to say a big thanks to the McCAMS Yamaha Team and Yamaha UK for allowing me to follow my dream. I will always remember the special times we had together.”
McAMS will now seek a replacement for Mackenzie and Andy Reid could step into his shoes as the Irishman is rider-without-portfolio this year.
