​Levi Day and Rob Guiver shared the Ducati TriOptions Cup spoils this weekend as fellow front-runner set the new lap record before being denied his first win.

The trio were at each other’s throats in the first race before Guiver fended off Rollo in the second as the latter desperately tried to grab his maiden victory.

Scotsman Rollo, who has had three runner-up finishes in the last four races, launched off the line in race one ahead of Guiver and Day as the three slowly began to stretch a gap over a chasing Josh Wainwright.

Rollo held station at the front for the first five laps, but shortly after Boast Plumbing’s Day had slipped ahead of veteran Guiver, the Aussie took the lead.

While series leader Guiver levered Rollo aside, the Highsparks Motorsport rider took his position right back just a lap later as the top trio were never separated by much more than half a second.

And despite Rollo’s final attempts to get by Day, he couldn’t find a way through and had to settle for second as Day bagged his third win of the year, 0.220s clear of Rollo and less than 0.4s ahead of Guiver.

In Sunday’s race two, Rollo was again the quickest away from the line, leading Ducati Romford/Hyside Motorcycles’ Guiver and Zoek Racing Team’s Neary as Day tucked into fourth.

The Scottish teenager led for the first two laps, but Guiver and Neary both found a way through on the former Superstock 1000 rider at Charlie’s, leaving him back in third just ahead of Day.

As Guiver broke his own lap record from 2016 before Neary and Day did the same, Wainwright was beginning to make inroads on the leading quartet.

The record went again the very next lap as Rollo clocked a 1’31.941 in third before sticking a pass on Neary and beginning to hunt down Guiver.

While Day took advantage of a moment by Neary to slot into the final podium spot, Guiver and Rollo had stretched over a second on the battle for third as they continued to destroy the lap record.

Rollo set a 1’31.548 just a couple of laps before out-braking Guiver at Park to hit the front.

And it looked like Rollo was on for his first victory, but Guiver passed him back on the final lap at Park and held on to take the win by just 0.138s, leaving Day to third a further two seconds back.
