Petronas Sprinta's John McPhee is focusing on his early-race performance at this weekend's second Valencia Moto3 race after crashing out of Sunday's encounter.
With three front row starts (2015, 2018 and 2020) – including pole position last time out – and a podium finish (2018) in the past, McPhee knows that a good result is possible around Circuit Ricardo Tormo.
The Scotsman will go into the penultimate round of 2020 sixth in the championship, with 119 points and a 38-point gap to the leader.
"It would be nice to do some more dry laps at Valencia, but I think we can be strong in all conditions. We were a little bit off the pace in warm up last weekend," said McPhee.
"I knew it wasn’t perfect but I thought that it wasn’t too big of an issue, that we could be in the mix. The biggest issue we had was the first lap. The team and I have been analysing the data to find out what we can improve for this Sunday.
"It’s the same circuit so the data is particularly relevant. It’s easy to think on what we missed, but now it’s time to focus on the race this weekend and do a good job."
