After an up-and-down season which started with the broken arm from testing, Australian David Johnson has signed to ride for the Carbontek BMW team in the Metzeler National Superstock series until the end of the year.
Johnson began the year with GBMoto but that partnership split after the Oulton Park round. A one-off ride with Sondel Kawsaki say Johnson back on track at Brands before he signed a deal last week to run with the BMW team until season end.
“It has been a tough season for me after struggling with a broken arm from pre-season testing which hindered the first half of the year. I scored some good results with GBMoto but that chapter has come to an end. I had a one-off ride for Sondel Kawasaki at Brands Hatch for the last round and we scored some decent points,” said Johnson.
“After a great meeting with the Carbontek boys on Tuesday evening, which finalised the deal, I'm very excited to jump on the BMW and give it everything! Unfortunately we don't have time to test before Cadwell but I'm still confident that I can give the team a strong result.”
