Cadwell BSB: Wilson aiming for Supersport double at home track

Gearlink Kawasaki’s Ben Wilson made it a step closer to clinching the Motorpoint British Supersport title with a race win at his home circuit this afternoon at Cadwell Park, and now the Boston lad is looking to make it a double victory tomorrow.

The race at the Lincolnshire track was full of drama, with crashes galore. It was eventually red-flagged after a incident involving Appleyard Macadam rider Bjorn Estment and Wilson was declared the winner. His team-mate and current championship leader Alastair Seeley fell after five laps at Park Corner, leaving Wilson to charge on ahead. The local rider led from the opening lap, something which he hopes he can replicate tomorrow afternoon.

“I am pleased we have got another win and that it is at my home circuit, and we have more hard work to do in the race two tomorrow. I have lost races when the red flag has come out before. But I will take that as I was leading for most of the race too and I would have had a go to get the lead again on the last lap, but I have just got to take the win and move on from that,” said Wilson, speaking to bikesportnews.com from the circuit.

“The home fans have been great and it has been a fantastic day and coming from a motocross background I really enjoy the jump in the circuit, and I will be trying to do the double again.”
