Dan Linfoot has targeted a return to British Superbike action at the Cadwell Park round after undergoing surgery to fix the hand he broke in three places at Knockhill last Friday.
The Yorkshire toast rack has had a fracture at the base of his thumb wired under a local anesthetic in hospital on Monday afternoon and now has to rest for six weeks before attempting any movement.
“It’s the first time I’ve had an operation under a local and I prefer it to a general! It was a strange crash as all of the data looks the same, I think I just turned in a bit too tight to stay clear of Tom Tunstall,” said Linfoot.
“Now all I can do is rest it, recuperate and come back as strong as I can for Cadwell. I suppose the plan is to finish the season as strongly as possible and then look to next year.”
