Points the priority for Bradley Ray at Donington BSB

Points are Bradley Ray’s priority at the Donington Park BSB round this weekend, he says, after three podium finishes at Oulton Park.

Ray was third in all three races at the BSB opener on 2–4 May, beaten by the Ducatis of Kyle Ryde and Leon Haslam on all three occasions.

It’s Ryde, who won three of the four races at Donington in last year’s September round, who leads the points after round one, 12 points ahead of Ray after he won each of the three races at round one.

Ray, though, is heading to Donington optimistic of his chances, even if the prioritisation of points over “silverware” is perhaps indicative of how he sees his own chances of challenging for victory this weekend (15–17 May).

“I'm looking forward to getting back on the Yamaha R1 and having another crack at it this weekend,” said Ray.

“Donington Park is a circuit that has delivered some strong results for the team over the years, and we head there in a confident mood.

“Like every race weekend, this one will come with its challenges, but as a team we're confident we'll be right in the fight.

“The aim is to bring home some silverware and, more importantly, some precious championship points for myself and the guys at McAMS Yamaha.”

Ray himself was victorious at Donington Park last year, winning all three races in the first Donington round of 2025 last May. He was also second in Race 3 last September, and his first BSB victories came at Donington back in 2018 when he did the double.
