Splitlath Redmond Racing have not ruled out a return to the MCE British Superbike Championship in 2014 but are currently concentrating on their roads and endurance campaigns.
As well as competing at the Isle of Man this year, the squad will take part in three rounds of World Endurance including the Suzuka Eight-Hours will an all-female line-up, and take in the Macau Grand Prix but a Superbike return could be on the cards.
“It is an option, it all depends on what happens this year with what we are doing, we might like what we are doing and stick with that, but it is an option and we have certainly not written off the idea of returning to British Superbikes,” said co-owner Derek Redmond, speaking to bikesportnews.com
"I miss BSB and I am sad about it, but with John being as ill as he was and a few other factors it just meant we could not get set up and prepared in time, and there is no way we can go into a BSB season and not be fully prepared so we had no choice but to pull out.
"The important thing was John’s health and for a while he was rushed into hospital a couple times over the Christmas period, and at one point it looked like we were not going to do any racing, so we are thankful for what we are doing.”
