Kyle Ryde is keen to capitalise on his Yamaha R1 package to display the kind of form that delivered a British Superbike Championship [BSB] classic involving his erstwhile team-mate Bradley Ray at Thruxton last year.
Ray, together with fellow Yamaha riders Jason O’Halloran and Tarran Mackenzie, delivered an enthralling masterclass performance in all three races at the Hampshire circuit last year from start-to-finish.
Though Ray failed to come away with a victory en route to his eventual title, his successor as team leader in the LAMI OMG Racing team Ryde is confident he has it in him to make amends this year.
Indeed, victory would come at an important juncture for the youngster after losing ground in the title race to BeerMonster Ducati riders Tommy Bridewell and Glenn Irwin.

The same at Brands Hatch and the bike felt great, and I was ready to take a trophy home and then unfortunately the gear lever broke so I was left sulking and with not many points!
“Obviously Thruxton has been a great track for the Yamaha in the past, even though I didn’t do too great last year. I am ready to put things right, I want to be taking some trophies home this weekend!”
