Here are all 15 riders who are changing teams for the 2025 MotoGP World Championship.
This weekend's Solidarity Grand Prix is the final round of the 2024 MotoGP World Championship. After this round, 15 riders will head to pastures new for the 2025 MotoGP World Championship.
Here is your reminder of who is going into their final weekend with their current teams.
Marc Marquez:
Gresini Racing MotoGP -> Ducati Lenovo Team
After one year with Gresini Racing MotoGP, Marc Marquez will part ways with the Italian squad. However, the Spaniard is not moving far as he is staying within the Ducati family and moving to the top of the tree in 2025.
Marquez will join the Ducati Lenovo Team in 2025 on a two-year deal. After one year on a Ducati GP23, the eight-time World Champion will ride a Ducati GP25 on Tuesday at the first 2025 preseason test.
Jorge Martin:
Prima Pramac Racing -> Aprilia Racing
After four years with Pramac Racing and Ducati, Jorge Martin will switch manufacturers in 2025. The Spaniard will move from one Italian manufacturer to another as he joins Aprilia next season.
Martin could win his first MotoGP World Championship this weekend in Barcelona and he will most likely take the #1 plate with him to Aprilia.
Enea Bastianini:
Ducati Lenovo Team -> Red Bull KTM Tech3
Enea Bastianini entered MotoGP with Ducati in the 2021 MotoGP season. Since then he has ridden for Avintia Racing, Gresini Racing MotoGP and Ducati Lenovo Team across his four years with Ducati.
However, there was no room for 'The Beast' in 2025 so he will move across Europe to Austria. Bastinaini will join KTM next season with the Red Bull KTM Tech3 squad. KTM have bolstered their MotoGP lineup with the former Moto2 World Champion.
Pedro Acosta:
GasGas Factory Racing Tech3 -> Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team
The superstar MotoGP rookie will move into the KTM factory squad next season. Pedro Acosta lived up to the hype in 2024 as he had five Grand Prix podiums and four Sprint Race podiums.
The Spaniard will get a step up onto Factory machinery in 2025 and will get the latest and greatest KTM MotoGP machinery.
Maverick Vinales:
Aprilia Racing -> Red Bull KTM Tech3
The second new face in the KTM family is Maverick Vinales as he moves to the Red Bull KTM Tech3 squad in 2025. The Spaniard will join his fourth MotoGP manufacturer next season after previously riding for Suzuki and Yamaha in his career.
Vinales could create further history in 2025 as he could become the first rider to win with four manufacturers in the MotoGP era.
Franco Morbidelli:
Prima Pramac Racing -> Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team
After one year with Prima Pramac Racing, Franco Morbidelli will move to the VR46 Racing Team in 2025. The Italian had a difficult start to the 2024 season but has improved throughout the year.
The Italian has had one Sprint Race podium as a Ducati rider and is currently ninth in the MotoGP Championship.
Aleix Espargaro:
Aprilia Racing -> Honda Racing Corporation
The Solidarity Grand Prix will be an emotional weekend for Aleix Espargaro. The MotoGP veteran will have his final weekend with Aprilia Racing, but it will also be his final race weekend as a full-time MotoGP rider.
In 2025 Espargaro will join Honda Racing Corporation as a test and development rider. This will end Espargaro's eight-year stint with the Italian manufacturer.
Marco Bezzecchi:
Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team -> Aprilia Racing
Marco Bezzecchi's two years in MotoGP have been spent with the VR46 Racing Team and Ducati. However, in 2025 the Italian will switch allegiances as he joins Aprilia Racing.
After struggling with the Ducati GP23 in the 2024 season, Bezzecchi has only had one podium. His struggles in 2024 likely led to his move to Aprilia for the 2025 MotoGP World Championship.
Jack Miller:
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing -> Pramac Yamaha
Jack Miller has spent two years in KTM Orange but will switch to a new manufacturer in 2025. The Australian will join Yamaha next season, this will be his fourth manufacturer in MotoGP since he joined in 2015.
Miller joins the new Pramac Yamaha Team on a one-year deal and the 2025 season will be a crucial year for the 29-year-old.
Miguel Oliveira:
Trackhouse Racing -> Pramac Yamaha
Miguel Oliveira's time with Aprilia has been filled with injuries and the Portuguese rider has not been able to show his potential. However, the 2024 season will be his last as an Aprilia rider as he moves to Yamaha in 2025.
The 29-year-old will join Miller at the new Pramac Yamaha Team on a 2025 Yamaha M1. Unlike his new teammate, Oliveira will have a two-year deal with Yamaha for 2025 and 2026.
Takaaki Nakagami:
LCR Honda IDEMITSU -> Honda Racing Corporation
Takaaki Nakagami has been on the MotoGP grid with LCR Honda IDEMITSU for the last seven years. However, the Japanese rider will not be on the MotoGP grid in 2025 as he retires from full-time racing.
Honda Racing Corporation were keen to keep hold of Nakagami and have signed him as a test and development rider for the 2025 season.
Augusto Fernandez:
GasGas Factory Racing Tech3 -> Yamaha Factory Racing?
It is known that Augusto Fernandez will not be with the GasGas Factory Racing Tech3 squad in 2025. However, his location for next season is not official, but he will likely be a Yamaha test and development rider in 2025.
The Spaniard only had two years in MotoGP after winning the Moto2 World Championship in 2022. Fernandez's future will likely be in test riding for the Japanese manufacturer.
Ai Ogura:
MT Helmets - MSi (Moto2) -> Trackhouse Racing:
The 2024 Moto2 World Champion will move to the MotoGP World Championship in 2025. Despite being a HRC junior rider throughout his career, Ai Ogura will make his MotoGP debut with Aprilia.
The Japanese rider has signed for Trackhouse Racing on a two-year deal and is one of three rookies in the 2025 MotoGP Championship.
Fermin Aldeguer:
SpeedUp Racing (Moto2) -> Gresini Racing MotoGP
After an impressive end to the 2023 Moto2 season, Ducati snapped up Fermin Aldeguer for 2025. The Italian manufacturer has placed Aldeguer in the Gresini Racing MotoGP Team to replace Marquez.
The Spaniard has not been as impressive in 2024 but has won three races in the Moto2 World Championship.
Somkiat Chantra:
Idemitsu Honda Team Asia (Moto2) -> LCR Honda IDEMITSU:
Somkiat Chantra will become the first Thai rider in MotoGP history as he moves into the MotoGP World Championship in 2025. Chantra has had a difficult 2024 Moto2 World Championship and is 12th in the standings.
However, the Thai rider will replace Nakagami in the LCR Honda IDEMITSU garage next season.
