The rider line-up for the 2024 MotoGP World Championship season is slowly, but surely beginning to take shape... though there remains some plum seats that are still to be 'plummed'.
The latest deal to be confirmed comes from Johann Zarco, who has penned a two-year deal that takes him away from Pramac Ducati and over to LCR Honda.
The Frenchman joins Takaaki Nakagami - who is on record as saying he is staying on board with LCR Honda for 2024 - and replaces Alex Rins, the Spaniard having negotiated a deal to join the factory Yamaha team while convalescing from a broken leg.
His arrival signals the departure of Franco Morbidelli, who has a strong chance of squeezing into Ducati’s line-up thanks to Zarco.
Elsewhere, the factory Ducati, Aprilia and KTM line-ups are just a press release shy of confirming no change, while Zarco’s confirmation at LCR should firm things up at Repsol Honda… so long as Marc Marquez isn’t tempted by the prospect of a competitive and available Ducati ride.
For the time being though, here is how the 2024 MotoGP grid looks as of today, plus a bit of namedropping as to who has been speculated for those seats that are or might be available.
