Alex Rins is set for a second surgery after injuring himself in the Sprint Race at the Italian Grand Prix and will miss the next two Grands Prix.
Alex Rins did not make the Sunday race at Mugello after a fall on Saturday broke his right tibia and fibula. The LCR Honda Team have since released an update on the condition of Rins:
"Alex Rins is flying today to Spain to continue his healing process after the injury he sustained last Saturday at the Italian Grand Prix.
"Having his tibia and fibula immobilized through an external fixator, Alex will undergo a second surgery later this week in Madrid to internally fix his bones and start recovering.
"The Spanish rider will miss the German and Dutch Grand Prix."
Rins currently sits 11th in the Championship and was one of two Honda riders who missed the Italian Grand Prix through injury.
The LCR Honda Team also announced today that they would not be replacing Rins for the German Grand Prix this weekend.
The team are only saying he will miss the next two Grands Prix but Rins may be a doubt as well for the British Grand Prix after the summer break also.
Rins released this on Twitter to show to his fans his condition after the crash on Saturday:
