Gold & Goose

Yamaha and Andrea Dovizioso will be back on track this week in Sepang ahead of the 2025 MotoGP season.

The 2025 MotoGP World Championship will get underway this weekend in Thailand. However, before the season officially begins Yamaha has some last-minute tests to complete.

Former MotoGP rider, Andrea Dovizioso, will take part in a two-day test with the Japanese manufacturer at Sepang, according to GPOne.

The Italian rider began testing for Yamaha at the end of the 2024 season and was present at the Sepang MotoGP Tests earlier this year.

The paddock will pay close attention to Dovizioso's time in Sepang due to the speculation surrounding Yamaha's V4 engine. The Japanese manufacturer is looking to switch away from its current Inline-Four engine.

However, the new V4 that is being developed has not been used on track and Yamaha has not stated when it will make its first appearance.

Fellow Yamaha Test Rider, Augusto Fernandez, has not been mentioned regarding the two-day test. The Spaniard has recently been drafted into the Pata Maxus Yamaha WorldSBK Team for the second round of the World Superbike Championship.
