New Aprilia race boss Romano Albesiano is confident the Paul Bird squad will remain as a partner to the Noale factory in MotoGP next year and says he is also in talks with Ioda who also plan to run Leon Camier.
Albesiano, who took over from the near-legendary Gigi Dall'Igna upon his defection to Ducati, says 2014 and 2015 will be research years in MotoGP before a full factory return in 2016.
"We are continuing to talk with PBM, they seem to have scaled down their plans for next season but will continue with us. We also have an ongoing negotiation with Ioda and we hope to reach an agreement," said Albesiano, speaking to our friends at GPone.com.
He also said Aprilia would probably not field any bikes in the World Superbike Evo class but was still trying to nail down a satellite deal with Francis Batta's Alstare outfit even though Batta himself has said he has taken his ball home and will be going car racing in 2014.
