Aprilia has announced the signing of Marco Bezzecchi for the 2027 MotoGP season on a “multi-year” contract.
Bezzecchi’s current contract with Aprilia Racing was due to expire at the end of the 2026 MotoGP season, but the renewal will of course keep him at Noale for at least the first two years of the 850cc regulations.
The announcement was made in conjunction with the release of a social media video in which Bezzecchi, who staged a ‘proposal’ to his RS-GP after winning last year’s Valencia Grand Prix, and his 2025 Aprilia were ‘married’. Aprilia’s statement confirming the continuation of its partnership with Bezzecchi does not specify the number of years the contract is due to last for, saying only that it is a “multi-year contract” in the headline.
The main text of the statement follows the marriage theme, and reads: “This agreement takes effect on the date it is signed and is valid for multiple years, in particular, where Marco [Bezzecchi] is concerned, as long as he desires to race around the track and, where Albarosa [Bezzecchi revealed this as the name he gave to his bike last year] is concerned, as long as fuel flows through her injectors.”
For Bezzecchi, the agreement means a continuation of the chapter of his MotoGP career that has seen him develop his reputation from being a talented rider, but perhaps not the kind of character that can lead a team, to being almost a full package: a rider that can win races, lead development, and rally the team around him in difficult moments as he did in 2025 during Jorge Martin’s series of injuries.
“I’m extremely happy to have renewed for another two years,” Bezzecchi said.
“From the first day I signed, I had the goal in mind of building a long-term project.
“I’m happy to have found the support of the entire team and the whole Noale factory. I hope I’ll be able to give them a lot of joy, as they most certainly will with me.”
Aprilia racing CEO Massimo Rivola added: “We are obviously extremely satisfied, because the renewal was our priority. We wanted to celebrate the signing in a particularly fun way, which I believe goes perfectly well with Marco’s [Bezzecchi] personality.
“We have built a path creating solid foundations, and the fact that Marco chose to stay with us, in spite of various other offers he received, gives us great pleasure and further highlights the work and spirit of this team.”
Aprilia’s confirmation of the Bezzecchi signing makes the Noale factory the first to announce a rider for the 2027 MotoGP season (with the exception of LCR Honda and Pramac Yamaha which both have riders on multi-year contracts that include 2026).
However, it comes after reports by Motorsport.com during the Sepang Shakedown test last week (29–31 January) that Fabio Quartararo is set to move to Honda in 2027, and that Jorge Martin is being prepared to replace him at Yamaha.
