Gold and Goose

Francesco Bagnaia returns to the site of his first MotoGP win this weekend as the MotoGP Championship leader.

Francesco Bagnaia heads to Aragon as the MotoGP Championship leader. The Italian rider was dominant last time out at the Red Bull Ring in Austria as he won the Sprint and main race. Bagnaia now has a five-point lead over his rival, Jorge Martin.

This weekend MotoGP returns to Aragon for the first time since 2022. The Spanish circuit became a happy hunting ground for Bagnaia in 2021 as he won his first MotoGP race at the circuit. The last two times MotoGP visited Aragon Bagnaia won a race and finished second in the other in 2022. However, his main Championship rival, Martin has a best result of sixth at Aragon in the MotoGP class.

But despite his recent form, Bagnaia insists that he must continue to work hard during the rest of the season.

“I am very proud of the work we accomplished in the last few races," Bagnaia stated. "But the season is still very long, and we must keep our feet on the ground."

"Aragón is a track I like, and I am happy to be racing here again: at MotorLand, I won my first MotoGP race, and in the last editions, I have always been competitive. In any case, we must stay focused and continue working while keeping the same direction taken in the last Grands Prix.”
