Lorenzo Baldassarri will join the Dynavolt IntactGP MotoE Team for the 2025 season.
After three years in the World Superbike paddock, Lorenzo Baldassarri is returning to the MotoGP paddock.
However, the Italian will not be riding in Moto2, a class he is a former winner in. Instead, he will ride for the Dynavolt IntactGP MotoE team in the 2025 MotoE World Championship.
Since originally leaving the MotoGP paddock Baldassarri has had mixed fortunes. In 2022 when riding for the Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team in World Supersport he ended the season in second place. However, a move to World Superbikes in 2023 would be his undoing as he ended the year in 18th for GMT94 Yamaha.
The 2024 season was a disaster for the 28-year-old as he ended up finishing 21st in the World Supersport Championship.
Baldassarri will make his official racing debut on the MotoE Ducati at the French Grand Prix on May 10. The Italian welcomes the new challenge and is looking forward to the 2025 season.
Baldassarri: "I can't wait to start the new season. I chose MotoE because the competition gets better, faster and closer every year and the show is fantastic.
"I've been toying with the idea for a while, even when I was still racing in World Superbike and went back to the Supersport category, but this year I've had the opportunity with Dynavolt Intact GP. After becoming world champions last year, they are clearly a successful team in Moto3, Moto2 and especially MotoE.
"I'm sure I'll learn a lot from last year's world champion Hector Grazo, who has been my teammate in the past."
