Enea Bastianini was disappointed after the Malaysian Grand Prix despite standing on the podium twice across the weekend.
From the outside, the Malaysian Grand Prix looked like a rather successful weekend for Enea Bastianini. However, after the race in Sepang, the Italian revealed that he was 'not very satisfied' with his weekend.
Bastianini started his weekend off on the front foot as he ended Friday in third before Qualifying in sixth on Saturday morning. The 26-year-old's weekend only got better in the races as he finished third in the Sprint Race and the Grand Prix.
Despite his double podium, Bastianini believed that he was 'lucky' in the races to claim the results that he did. Throughout the weekend the Ducati Lenovo rider struggled with the feeling on his Ducati GP24 and never managed to resolve the problem.
"No, I am not very satisfied," Bastianini stated. "Because I had to fight with the bike for a lot of the weekend. We started with a good feeling but after we lost something.
"I was confident that we could resolve the problem this morning but nothing changed. I was lucky today in the race because Marc (Marquez) crashed. But for the rest there are no positives."
Despite his main rival Marc Marquez crashing Bastianini did not change his Championship position. With one round remaining of the 2024 MotoGP Championship Bastianini finds himself fourth in the standings. However, he is one point behind Marquez so could end his season with a third place in the Championship.
