Bautista confirmed at Aspar Ducati for MotoGP 2017

Spain’s Alvaro Bautista has this morning been confirmed as an Aspar Ducati rider for the 2017 MotoGP season but it is not yet clear whether he will partner Eugene Laverty or Yonny Hernandez in the squad.

Bautista will be on a 2016-spec Desmosedici next season upon his return to the team where he raced in 125GP and 250GP, taking the 125cc World Championship in 2006 before moving in 250s.

“I am happy to be returning to what was my home for many years in the World Championship, where I enjoyed my best results including the 125cc World Championship title and fought for another title in 250cc,” he said.

“I am happy and motivated to be going back and especially to have another year in MotoGP, a new adventure. Over the years I have grown a lot and I have much more experience now. I am confident that with this team we can be competitive in 2017.”
