Rumours that Moto3 star Darryn Binder is making the leap to MotoGP in 2022 have intensified as the South African is booked to test an official YART R1 Superbike at Brno today.
Petronas SRT staff have been spotted at the Czech Republic track on Tuesday morning as Binder makes his big-bike debut but it is so far unclear which tyres he will run.
The 23-year-old’s current setup will be chucked in a skip at the end of this season as the Malaysia-based outfit looks set to call time on it’s junior class talent factory - due in no small part to the cessation of ties with Petronas as title sponsor - but the likelihood of him ending a seven-year tiddler-class career with a seat on an SRT MotoGP M1 is looking more likely by the day.
