Jorge Martin could win the MotoGP World Championship this weekend for the Prima Pramac Racing Team.
Prima Pramac Racing could become the first Independent Team to win a Riders Championship in MotoGP. The Ducati satellite team have supported Jorge Martin since 2021 and the Spaniard could win them a title in his final season.
In the 2023 MotoGP season, Martin lost out on the title but aided Prima Pramac Racing to the Teams World Championship. However, he could claim his glory this season and win the MotoGP World Championship.
Martin is 17 points ahead of Ducati Lenovo rider, Francesco Bagnaia, in the Championship standings. With only two rounds to go Prima Pramac could secure the title this weekend in Malaysia.
Ahead of the Malaysian Grand Prix, Gino Borsoi, Prima Pramac Racing Team Manager, spoke about the privilege of fighting for a MotoGP World Championship once again.
"Well, it is another chapter for us again," Borsoi stated. "Last year we were able to achieve an incredible goal to become the first Independent Team to win the Teams Championship. This year we are here and we have the chance to get the title with our rider.
"As I have said before it is a privilege for us and all of the team. Also, I have to say thank you to Ducati because if you are in this situation it is thanks to them. All the time last year and this year they gave us all the support, all the tools, everything to be competitive."
At the end of the 2024 season, Prima Pramac Racing will leave Ducati and become the Yamaha satellite team. Martin will also leave Ducati and Pramac as he will become an Aprilia Racing rider in 2025.
