Red Bull KTM Ajo welcomed their new Moto2 rider, Collin Veijer, to the fold with a two-day test in Jerez.
After two years in Moto3 Collin Veijer made the step up to Moto2 last week in Jerez. The Dutch rookie completed his first test on the Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 machine in a two-day test.
The Dutch rider completed 183 laps across the two-day test at the Spanish circuit. Veijer's aim for the test was to get to know his new team and most importantly his new machine.
“I think we had a productive two days. We improved a lot on many things," Veijer said after the test.
"Yesterday morning was a bit difficult, because it is a new bike, so we need to get used to it, but during the day we made a lot of progress, so I’m very happy with the team and with the people I’m working with.
"We did a great job and we started to create a good base for next year.”
The 19-year-old spent his two years in Moto3 with the Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP squad.
Throughout his time in the lightweight class, he won two races and stood on nine further podiums. His best Championship finish came in 2024 when he finished third in the standings.
Veijer will ride alongside his former Moto3 rival, Deniz Oncu, in the Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 team in 2025.
