Britain’s Cal Crutchlow has undergone successful surgery in Barcelona on the left scaphoid he broke on Sunday morning during Jerez MotoGP morning warm-up.

The LCR Honda man will return to the Andalucian track this week and, after a mandatory fitness test on Thursday, will see how the wrist holds up in free practice one.

“Cal had an operation that went well and in principle, his intention is to test the wrist on Friday,” said HRC team boss Alberto Puig.

“We are optimistic about his participation in the Grand Prix.”
