LCR Honda's Randy De Puniet has undergone surgery to repair a fractured left ankle the French MotoGP star sustained in a motocross traning crash last weekend.

The Donington Park rostrum sitter was out with his trainer and former motocross racer Yves Demaria when De Puniet lobbed it going into a turn and hit his leg heavily.

He was taken to hospital where X-rays showed a fracture and it was immediately screwed. He will now consult with Clinica Mobile staff in order to be ready to race at Brno in a fortnight.
