Italian Andrea Dovizioso will use the updated Ducati chassis he tested at Misano at the end of last week while team-maye Nicky Hayden is sticking with what he knows at this weekend's Sachsenring MotoGP round.
Dovizioso said after the test he wasn't sure which way to go with the new bike as it did have some corner-exit advantages but didn't know it if would be available. Hayden, meanwhile, said the step forward was nothing like big enough to warrant a change.
"We did a good job last week in a private test at Misano, so for the first time, Andrea will bring the ‘new’ bike for a race weekend. It will be very interesting to see how it works at the Sachsenring after the positive impressions he had at Misano. As for Nicky, he did some good lap times at the test, and he’ll continue with the current bike. The Sachsenring is a track where anything can happen, including with the weather, but we head to Germany expecting to do well," said team boss Vito Guareschi.
