Too-tall-for-Honda Frenchman Loris Baz has made his MotoGP debut with the Forward Yamaha team this morning at Valencia, folding his 6ft 5in frame on to the Open class NGM-backed bike.

His best laptime at the lunch hour was 1’34.304, set on his 44th lap of 44. He is just ahead of fellow debutants Jack Miller and Eugene Laverty while he gets used to the Bridgestone tyres and carbon brakes.
