Francesco Bagnaia aims to replicate his 2022 British Grand Prix performance this weekend

Gold and Goose

Last year Francesco Bagnaia took victory in the British Grand Prix after a slow start to his weekend. Now one year later the Italian wants to take victory in British soil once again.

Francesco Bagnaia returns from the MotoGP summer break as the reigning Champion and the Championship leader. Bagnaia has put together a strong start to his 2023 MotoGP campaign but the Italian knows the second half of the season will be crucial if he wishes to secure his second MotoGP title.

With MotoGP back in action this weekend at Silverstone, a track where Ducati have only won twice, their main man will want to kick start the second half of the season with another race win. So far this season Bagnaia has won four Grands Prix and three Sprint Races.

"It was a good summer break: I was able to rest but also dedicate myself to my training program," said Francesco Bagnaia ahead of the British Grand Prix. "And I had a lot of fun on track, on several occasions, with my Panigale V4S together with the other Ducati riders. It is time to start again, and I am happy about that.

"Last year at Silverstone, I scored one of the most beautiful victories of my career in a weekend that did not start immediately in the best way.

"This year's goal will be to get off on the right foot immediately and, above all, try to bring home more important points for the overall standings."
