Sete Gibernau was due to begin a second day’s testing session with Ducati at Mugello today, adding further fuel to the fire that is currently blazing away under Marco Melandri.
It is thought the former MotoGP star, who retired in 2006, will be on the 2009 Desmosedici GP9 but may also ride this year’s bike again in an effort to get to the bottom of why no-one but Casey Stoner can get the thing to run at any sort of pace.
The tests are being run privately and no data is expected to be released before tomorrow night.
