GOWLAND TO RACE FTR MOTO2 BIKE IN FINAL SPANISH ROUNDS

Motorpoint Yamaha BSB rider Graeme Gowland will contest the newly-unveiled and British-built FTR Moto bike in the final two Spanish CEV rounds at Jerez and Valencia after some development laps this weekend at Montmelo.

The bike was finally shown in its finished state yesterday and development director Steve Bones was pleased with the reaction. The bike will be taken to the Joe Darcey team later on today.

“It’s difficult to know what people will think when you’ve created something that is 100 per cent our own initiative, design and build. Thankfully everybody loved the machine and we’re hoping for a similar reaction when we arrive at Montmelo," said Bones.

“We’ve already had a lot of enquiries from teams and customers and we’re beginning to get to the business end of the year in terms of teams preparing for the new, 2010 Moto2 World Championship.

“We’ll gauge the response in Spain this weekend – as they prepare for their own national Moto2 Championship from 2010 but overall we’re very happy with the response to the machine and the compliments being paid.”

He may also have said: "It's worse than that, he's dead, Jim." But probably not.
